On the morning of January 16, 2026, the leading Party members group of the China Law Society held a meeting to convey and study the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech at the Fifth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and to convey and study the Communique of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection. Closely integrating the actual work of the China Law Society, the meeting studied measures for implementation. It emphasized the need to more fi rmly uphold the ‘Two Establishments’ and resolutely achieve the ‘Two Safeguards’, uphold and strengthen the Party’s overall leadership over the China Law Society, resolutely implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important requirements of the ‘Three More’, consistently strengthen political oversight, unswervingly improve Party conduct, enforce Party discipline, and fi ght corruption, and fi rmly and solidly advance full and rigorous Party self-governance within the China Law Society. Wang Hongxiang, Secretary of the leading Party members group and Executive Vice President of the China Law Society, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. It was pointed out at the meeting that General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech is of high standing, broad vision, profound thinking, and rich connotation. It fully affirms the remarkable achievements made in improving Party conduct, building integrity, and combating corruption over the past year, profoundly analyzes the situation and tasks of self-governance in Party organizations during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, and stresses the need to advance full and rigorous Party self-governance with higher standards and more practical measures. It fully demonstrates the firm determination and will of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core to consistently advance full and rigorous Party self-governance, refl ects the clarity and fi rmness of our Party to address the unique challenges of a large party at all times, and provides fundamental guidance for further advancing full and rigorous Party self-governance and the fi ght against corruption. We must continue to build the law society politically, govern the law society strictly, and run the law society in accordance with regulations, and advance the implementation of full and rigorous Party self-governance in the law society with higher standards and more practical measures. Taking full and rigorous Party self-governance as the fundamental guarantee, we must establish and practice a correct understanding of what it means to perform well, carry out all work of the law society in 2026, unite and lead legal professionals to jointly create a new situation in the construction of the rule of law in China.
